Measurement of tire/road noise in Templin

The Gesellschaft für Akustikforschung Dresden mbH frequently supports cities, townships and other institutions to acoustically analyze road surfaces. Recently, a tire/road noise measurement with a special tire/road noise trailer was carried out at a main road through the center of the city that is subject to a renewal of the road structure during the next months.

Within the investigations, during the passage of the road, the tire/road noise is continuously recorded and plotted by means of GPS into a digital road map. By repeated measurements, differences of the noise levels can be determined that are caused by different traffic velocities as well as by different construction levels of the road surface (before / after replacement of road surface).
